Dungeon Day

I wonder what my blog will turn into after the “30 Days of Truth Challenge” is over. I know that I can make it whatever I want it to be but I hope I am consistent. Lord knows that is a weakness for me in the blogging-world.

Today was a pretty good day. It was super chill! Carrie had a half day of work yesterday and is off the rest of this week because of UEA so I am off, too! I had one of those “just me” days. I hung out in the dungeon all day doing homework, making videos for my mom, watching a movie, catching up on my shows, chattin’ it up w/ friends, attempting Snookie’s hairdo. You know, just chillin’! J Let’s get into today’s challenge.

Day 14: A hero that has let you down.

Huh. I don’t know if I’ve had any heroes that haven’t followed through. My mom’s always been awesome and there for me. My papa passed away when I was way little so he hasn’t done anything wrong in my eyes. As far as anyone else that would be a potential hero… I haven’t considered them to be one. But this is good right? The ones that count are still on my “Awesome” list. J

Today’s song is an awesome one. Although, they’re always awesome! This one is off of a CD my friend, Chaela, made for me just before I left to Virginia for two months last year. There are some awesome songs on there that I had never heard before and this is one of them. Have a great day! Be strong, be happy, and find the joy your life!

Pick Somebody Up- Raul Midon

I don't wanna be nobody's fool
And I don't wanna take no one to school
I just wanna pick somebody up
I don't wanna tell you how I live
I just wanna give what I have to give
Maybe it'll pick somebody up

Smiling faces, warm embraces
Love is walking hand in hand
Revolution is no solution
To the tragedy of men, here's my plan
Hope I can, pick somebody up
Pick somebody up

Honey when you give your love to me
Together we can make some history
Maybe it'll pick somebody up
Go along and get along and sell my soul
That ain't a way this pappa rolls
When a little ? picks somebody up

Take a stranger, out of danger
Help someone to understand
That revolution is no solution
To the tragedy of men, here's my plan
Hope I can pick somebody up
Pick somebody up

Why do you do it, why do you do it
Why do you do it, why do you do it

Some people ask me why are you're doing this thing
How come you're playing music for people
Getting up early in the morning just to catch a plane, a bus or a train
Going insane, fanning a flame, so then why-
Is it for love? Is it for self-expression?
Is it to combat depression? Is it to make people happy?
I mean, I love it
I can hear it
I listen when somebody smiles at me

When I'm happy, when I'm sad
When I'm surly, and when I'm glad
When that sunshine turns to rain
And I just can't stand the pain
And I feel I'm going insane
Till I get back home again

When I think I can't compete
And I just can't find the beat
When I'm old, when I'm young
When my final saw this song
I shall hope we have some fun
Spreading love to everyone
So before I tip my cup
I just wanna pick somebody up
Pick somebody up
Pick somebody up
Pick somebody up
Pick somebody up
Pick somebody up

  1. THE DUNGEON!!! It sounds so ominous. Little does everyone know that it is only the basement apartment you live in. :)

  2. True. But now you've taken away the whole effect of "The Dungeon." :) Hehee!
