Turn the Page

I realize that the previous blog stated there would be more blog postings and there have been a lack thereof. I take this time now to express my apologies, but at the same time I ask you, are you truly surprised? We both know that I have promised an abundance of updates and have frequently failed at doing so. I despise that it has happened as many times as it did. However, I cannot do anything about the past. I can only work toward changing the future. Not necessarily the future of the world, but at least the future of MY world. J

Today’s post will merely be a filler post, as to carry you over until the next posting. I have much to update on and many pictures to include. First, I must organize my thoughts and pictures in chronological order. Keep in mind this WILL take longer than is ideal, since I am moving in about 5 weeks. I have a lot of things to weed out and pack. I must say, I really hate packing. I don’t mind moving, since I’ve done it SO MANY TIMES. The only thing that I don’t like about moving is packing. Oh, and the whole idea of having to “start over.”

I am completely ecstatic over the fact that I am moving back to Utah and finally to St. George. It’s been a move-in-the-making for over 4 years now. I know! I’m sorry. At least I’ve FINALLY said yes, doesn’t that count for anything? With this new adventure, I’ve decided that I must (in no particular order) become more courageous. I must become more confident. I must become more competitive. Not in the sense of having a STRONGER desire to beat everyone and everything. More like fighting for the things that I want/need in my life. Make sense? This next chapter is going to be entitled, Three C’s. J

The song du jour (haha! Idk if that’s right but I thought it worked) is by a semi-new group, Karmin. I’ve been following them (not via twitter, as I find it weird for people to make a stalker’s job THAT much easier J) over the past several months and have fallen in love with them. The recently released their first album and this song is the basis of my Three C’s chapter. They inspire me as does this song. I wish them all the luck and success they need and cannot wait for what they have in store for their Karminites! J

I’m Just Sayin’- Karmin

Oh if I want it, I’m gonna get it

And I’m just sayin’, I’m just sayin’

Oh if I want it, I’m gonna get it

And I’m just sayin, I’m just sayin’

Future in my hands

Gotta make it count

Convince yourself it’s feasible

Then there’s nothin’ else

Sick addiction, dangerous mind

Put it on command

Error undefined

Even when you got a shadow of a doubt

Even when a hundred people tell you it’s a wipeout

You gotta do it big

You gotta do it strong

At the end of the day

You’re the one who’s in the wrong

Regretting and forgettin’ everything you worked for

Instead a trendsettin’ and bettin’

It’s so upsetting’ I’m sweatin’ now

And I can’t believe it

It should be so easy, oh…

Already got a knack

Just dial it back

The window’s open and the world is yours

Go attack

Cause when the wind is right and the tide is high

Then it’s time to fly

Chorus-

Oh if I want it, I’m gonna get it

And I’m just sayin’, I’m just sayin’

Oh if I want it, I’m gonna get it

And I’m just sayin, I’m just sayin’

I know, know, know

Where to go, go, go

Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh

I know, know, know

Where to go, go, go

Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh

Did you ever think

I’ll do what I want

Me in the marathon, uh

One in the front

Now you’re makin’ plans

Don’t let them screw it up

Better write your name on it

Paper cut

Most people afraid of hearing no

Got booed off stage once, Apollo

I can do anything that I wanna do

And I’ll take that

Cause it’s not for you

Took a few years to surface

But now it’s so bizurkus

And I’m ring leadin’ in this circus

I’m just sayin’

I’m just layin’ and pavin’ the road ahead of me

Bravin’ the elements

And watchin’ it cave in

My heart is racin’ and palpitatin’

I’m so done anticipatin’

It’s all good, yeah

Made up my mind

Threadin’ the needle is part of the design

Chorus

Oh if I want it

I know I’m gonna get it

I’m just sayin’ that’s the way that it goes- 2x

And if we look at life

I’mma tell you what

You only get one

We bein’ honest, huh?

Let em tell you no
We on another place approachin’

Destination hit the main vein

Now we glidin’, windin’

Tryin’ not to crash cause we so high

Gotta keep grindin’

Not a limit

No drivin’

The ship

We runnin’

It all

Chorus

Whaaa?!

I just realized that I only blogged twice this year. TWICE?! How is it that 2010 was basically non-stop-blogging but since then, I’ve blogged less than 20 times? Has my life gotten THAT boring? Have I had an overloaded amount of “speech-less” moments? Thankfully and sadly, no to both. It’s really just the fact that I got lazy. Apparently more so than usual. Wow. I just made myself sound even more pathetic. Oh well, we all have our moments, right? The only correct answer would be, “right.” J

I figured I need to catch up and make this year worthwhile. However, I still don’t have the time I need to fully catch you up on everything. I have a bunch of pictures to put up, and they aren’t even on Facebook either. This is really just a little blurb to compensate for the lack of blogging. Mainly to use the minion “whaaaa?” and to dedicate today’s song to my one and only twin, Karyn.

Today’s song is a “blast from the past.” Of course it is a selective past. It’s a song from Barney. Yep, I said Barney, you know- that purple dinosaur. If you didn’t watch Barney then I’m sorry you were deprived of sheer awesomeness. If you did watch Barney, then you get where I’m coming from. I watched the “reunion” show today w/ Keira and Brooklyn (the youngest two of the four I nanny). It was so fun! I think it’s called, “Sing and Dance” or something to that effect. It’s streaming on Netflix. J A bunch of the kids that were on when I watched and when my brother watched came back. They sang a BUNCH of the songs I know and love. I think Keira was trippin’ that I knew all the songs and motions. J Anyways, one of the last songs they sang was this one and it made me think of my “sister from another mister” Karyn. Now that we’re gonna be roommates, for the second time, I’m ĂĽber excited for July to come!

I’ll do my best to get back on the blogging track. Until then be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life.

You Can Count on Me- Barney and Friends

You can count on me

I’ll always be around

I will cheer you up when you’re feeling down

I like you, you like me

We have fun together

When it’s sunny, when it rains

In any kind of, in any kind

In any kind of weather

You can count on me

Because I am your friend

We make a happy team

Together to the end

You’re my buddy

I’m your pal

Side by side we’re playing

If you ever need my help

On your side I’m, on your side I’m

On your side I’m staying

You can count on me

Because I am your friend

We make a happy team

Together to the end

You can count on me

You can count on me

Better Things

Back from an unplanned, two month hiatus. Here she is, the woman of the blogosphere… Me!

My dear Bloggies. I realize that I sound redundant from past blogs, but I apologize for my lack of blogging. I gather that you would assume I have many adventures to fill you in on. And to my surprise, I do. Little as they may be they still are adventures and I will take what I can get. J However, my dear ones, tonight’s episode shall be a quick one. It is merely to share w/ you all the upcoming adventures in store, have (finally) a start date. I shall claim new residency in St. George, Utah as of July 18th! A little earlier than originally planned (and I use that word loosely) but hey, the funnest times happen when they are not planned out.

Look out St. Geezy, I’m comin’ for ya! Mothers, lock up your sons. Fathers… Hmm. I don’t know. I can’t think of anything. [Insert awesome comment here.] Stay tuned for all new episodes of the adventures of… Me! Here's a good, uplifting song that I'm feeling right now. J Be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life!

Think Good Thoughts- Colbie Caillat

I'm just gonna say it,
There's no using in delaying,
I'm tired of the angry hanging out inside me,

So I'll quiet down the devil,
I'm gonna knock him with a shovel,
And I'll burry all my troubles underneath the rubble
When I'm alone in my dark dark room,
I have to tell myself to,

Think good thoughts,
Think good thoughts,
Imagine what the world would be if we would just,

Think good thoughts,
Stop the bad from feeding,
I won't let the negativity turn me into my enemy,
Promise to myself that I won't let it get the best of me,
That's how I want to be
Na, na, na, na

I'm not saying that it's easy,
Especially when I'm moody,
I might be cursing like a sailor till I remind myself I'm better,
Cause words can be like weapons,

Oh and you use them, you regret them,
Oh but I'm not gonna let them take away my heaven
And when I start feeling blue,
I remember to tell myself to,

Think good thoughts,
Think good thoughts,
Imagine what the world would be if we would just,

Think good thoughts,
Stop the bad from feeding,
I won't let the negativity turn me into my enemy,
Promise to myself that I won't let it get the best of me,
That's how I want to be

I just think rain on a summer night,
Stars filling up the sky,
Sunshining on my face,

Making a secret wish,
Finding my happiness,
That always makes me hold my head up high,
I wanna hold my head up high,

I wanna think good thoughts (Imagine what the world would be if we would just think good thoughts)
I wanna think good thoughts (wouldn't that be something?)
I won't let the negativity turn me into my enemy,
Promise to myself that I won't let it get the best of me,
That's how I want to be
Na, na, na, na

Welcome Back!

HELLLLOOOO Bloggies!! I have missed you all! This is easy to say since I know all of you who actually read my posts. J

I had a great spiritual experience earlier this evening and I needed to share it w/ ALL THE WORLD, or at least w/ those who care about me. As you may have heard, via Facebook, I have been under the weather lately. The kids I nanny have all had different battles w/ the sickness bug and alas, my time has come to dress for battle. My uneducated guess is that I have strep throat. Bleh! It’s the worst. Especially since I recently found out that it doesn’t just “go away” w/o antibiotics. My insurance-less life is truly getting in the way of a healthy me. *Note to self- I really need to work on getting a job that provides benefits.* Anyways, my visiting teacher, Amanda, has been super awesome! We’ve been getting along quite swimmingly and today during our texting I asked her if she knew if there were doctors in the ward. My, all-knowing, mother told me to ask and I obeyed. I try to do so every now and then. ;) Anyways, she called me and gave me a few people and then asked if I wanted her to send over some brethren to give me a blessing. I accepted and she went to work. A bit later I got a call from a brother, whose name I forgot, in the ward and he said that he and another brother would be over soon to give me a blessing.

I sat anxiously waiting. Mostly, because I didn’t want them to have to wait for me or for the dog to jump on them if someone else answered the door and no one put him away. It was useless anxiety, really. Well, we introduced ourselves, no last names exchanged, and John and LJ sat w/ me for a little bit to find out what’s up. Long story short, we got down to the blessing and before the anointing prayer (is that right?) was done I was overcome w/ the Spirit. The sealing blessing took place and these brothers were so wonderful and carried the Spirit w/ them so strong that I was happy to be sitting down. It seems like it’s been such a while since I’ve last felt the Spirit so strong that it was such a relief to feel it again. It was a sense of “coming home.” Within the blessing was said a few things that I needed to hear and that I knew was coming straight from the Lord. I know He DOES love me and knows me, but it’s great to hear it out loud every now and then and in a different voice than my own.

Thank you Heavenly Father for the restored gospel and for the priesthood on the earth right now. It has been such a great blessing and opportunity for me. I love being in the presence of others who have such great countenances about them. I feel like it is so limited these days for me and I have come to better love waking up on Sundays to go to church and relish in the Spirit that is there. I will do, not try, harder to not take it for granted. I will do what it takes to get me on the same level that I used to be, spiritually, and then progress from there.

Be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life!

Your Smile- Josh Turner

Your smile
Will always be one of my favorite things
Like backyard barbecues and front porch swings
An evening breeze through a window screen

Your smile
Makes me feel just like a child inside
Like Christmas morning sparklin' red and bright
And Grandpa's pipe and my first bike

Your smile
Like daylight drippin' through the mountain pines
Pure sunshine, summertime
Your smile
Like a wheat field in the southern breeze
Apple trees, sweet and ripe

Your smile
So much joy from such a simple thing
Like an old wheelbarrow filled with summer rain
A blue sky day and sun on my face
And your smile

Your smile
Like daylight drippin' through the mountain pines
Pure sunshine, summertime
Your smile
Like a wheat field in the southern breeze
Apple trees, sweet and ripe

Your smile
Right there with butter beans and cherry pie
And all the other simple joys of life
That warm my heart
And make it all worthwhile
Your smile

Past Due

Holy cow Batman! I haven’t written in forever! Eek! But is it really a surprise to you? I didn’t think so. ;)

Since I haven’t blogged for the past two-three months, I would assume that I have a lot to update you on. But luckily, we’re already facebook friends (right?) so you pretty much know what’s going on. New job, trip to Utah, and that pretty much catches you up. J I originally wrote a WHOLE lot more but decided that it would be too boring to read. Instead I will just say that after my 2 ½ day trip back to Utah, I realized that I miss it much more than I thought and am planning on moving back. Not for a while but hopefully not too far away either.

That’s all for now. I’ll write again soon and hopefully I’ll have more interesting things to add. Here’s the song for today. I’ve been sitting on this one for a while. I love BeyoncĂ©. She’s so talented and beautiful. It did take me a while to truly appreciate her the way I do now, though. But I’m glad I finally do. She’s helped me out a lot in her songs so I owe it to her to love her! Here’s another HIT of hers. I’m sure you can figure out why I like this song so much. J Be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life!

Best Thing I Never Had- Beyoncé

What goes around comes back around, hey my baby (3x)

There was a time
I thought, that you did everything right
No lies, no wrong
Boy I, must've been outta my mind
So when I think of the time that I almost loved you
You showed your ass and I saw the real you

Thank God you blew it
Thank God I dodged the bullet
I'm so over you
So baby good lookin' out

[Chorus]
I wanted you bad
I'm so through with it
Cuz honestly you turned out to be the best thing I never had
You turned out to be the best thing I never had
And I'm gon' always be the best thing you never had
I bet it sucks to be you right now

So sad, you're hurt
Boo hoo, oh, did you expect me to care?
You don't deserve my tears
I guess that's why they ain't there
When I think that there was a time that I almost loved you
You showed your ass and I saw the real you

Thank God you blew it
Thank God I dodged the bullet
I'm so over you
Baby good lookin' out

[Chorus]

I know you want me back
It's time to face the facts
That I'm the one that's got away
Lord knows that it would take another place, another time, another world, another life
Thank God I found the good in goodbye

[Chorus 2x]

Goes around, comes back around
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right now
Goes around, comes back around
Bet it sucks to be you right no

Take Two

Aroha! How are my lovely Bloggies doing this fine evening? Well, it’s evening for me. J

I started this post two days ago. I had about half a page worth of writing. Turns out it was a bunch of self-wallowing. I erased it. All! Now I am starting anew. J

I’ve been watching the nephews for the past couple weeks that they’ve been back from visiting the grandparents. Nani and Matt work during the day and my schedule is SUPER flexible. I’ve been trying to do fun things w/ them but we mostly just end up playing at home and usually playing video games. I decided that I was going to break in my new tennis racket, that I’ve had for the past 4-ish months, and take the boys to the park for tennis, razor-ing, and skateboarding. None of which I am very good at. Luckily, the six tennis courts were empty so we had the whole place to ourselves. J The boys used Nani and Matt’s rackets and we picked up a can of tennis balls on the way. We had a blast! I hadn’t played tennis since I was in high school. Holy cow! I didn’t realize it was THAT long ago. Kona said that he should be good at it because he’s played Wii tennis a lot. If that were the case, I’d be a pro at bowling, boxing, summer Olympic sports, ping-pong, and so many more sports. J If only! We all got in some good exercising. The boys had so much fun that yesterday AND today they asked to go play tennis again. Sadly, we’ve just had too many things going on that we haven’t had time to go. Kona’s birthday is on Saturday. He’s turning 10! I can’t believe my little Chubbahs isn’t little anymore. Or Chubbahs for that matter. I won’t be able to call them munchkins for much longer. L

Today’s song has been done by a few different people. I’m not sure who was REALLY the original artist. Most everyone is saying it was The Zutons while others say it was Steve Winwood. Turns out Steve Winwood did have a song called “Valerie” but it’s a different one. Most recently Bruno Mars performed it at the VMA’s in memory of Amy Winehouse, as she was the one to make it “famous.” But it was Santana from Glee that I made it a hit for me. I never heard it before that episode. Sad, I know. I’ve listened to four different versions of this song. I like them all. I LOVE the video that The Zutons made. It’s pretty clever. I really like Amy so whatever she sings is good. I’m pretty much in love w/ Bruno. And I’m a total gleek. So it’s hard to say which version is my favorite. I guess they all are in their own way. But for the sake of the artist’s picture to go w/ the lyrics, I will choose Amy. I don’t think I’ve don one of her songs yet. I’ve done Bruno at least twice and Glee… I do their stuff ALL the time! It’s kind of funny how my blurb on the song of the day turns into a whole novel. J

Have a wonderful three-day weekend, Bloggies! I hope that this summer was fun, eventful, and memorable. I’m sad to see it go but I guess it can’t be summer forever. Or can it? J Be strong, be happy, and the joy in your life!

Valerie- Amy Winehouse

Well sometimes I go out by myself and I look across the water

And I think of all the things, what you’re doing, and in my head I paint a picture

Cause since I’ve come on home my body’s been a mess

And I miss your ginger hair and the way you like to dress

Oh won’t you come on over

Stop making’ a fool out of me

Why don’t you come on over, Valerie

Valerie

Valerie

Valerie

Did you have to go to jail, put your house out up for sale, did you get a good lawyer

I hope you didn’t catch a tan, I hope you find the right man who’ll fix it for you

Are you shopping anywhere, change the color of your hair, and are you busy

Did you have to pay that fine that you were dodging all the time, are you still dizzy

Well since I’ve come on home my body’s been a mess

And I miss your ginger hair and the way you like to dress

Oh won’t you come one over

Stop making a fool out of me

Why don’t you come on over, Valerie

Valerie
