As you know I moved in with Hector and Carrie the beginning of March. Then about two months later, we moved to Lehi (yep, I moved again, bleh). The thing I hate about moving is the packing. You think that you don't have THAT much stuff, but as you are packing your life away, you are rudely awakened by the fact that you have a TON of crap and aren't sure how it all happened so fast. I figured I could pack everything, other than my clothes, in 3- somewhat- big boxes. Much to my amazement, that was NOT possible. Luckily, Carrie guys had extra containers to use for packing. I packed those 3 boxes and another 3 containers, and let's not forget my two suitcases and about 5 bags of clothes left on their hangers (think dry cleaning pick up). I know! Lots of stuff!
Two weekends ago we moved into the new place. We used the biggest truck from U-Haul, I believe it's 27 feet? We had a ton of people helping us out and they were all so awesome! We got everything done so fast! I've moved A LOT over the last 24 years, but I have never moved or have been moved with so many people. We had at least 15 people there moving everything into the truck. If you can't tell, I was really shocked at how many people came and how fast we got things done. Thanks everyone! :) We are pretty much all moved in. The only left to do is set up the office and finish putting up decorations: paintings and such.
With all this moving, I am happy that I won't be moving for a while. How I wish that were true. I'm going home to Hawaii in a week and I'm going to help my parents move. They've been in the same place for 7 years. That seems to be the longest time our family stays anywhere. Not on purpose, it just happens that way. Needless to say, there is a lot of stuff. I am not excited to pack it all and move it, again. I need to weed through my junk and bring things back with me, as well as weed through the rest of my family's junk, to down-size everything. We're still not sure where they're going just yet, but I figure the more we get rid of the easier it'll be to move.
I think I should become a professional mover. It's easy moving other people's stuff as opposed to your own stuff. You can pack quickly when it's not your own stuff, but when you are packing away your life, for the umpteenth time, you go through things and start reminiscing. Which then means your packing time becomes longer than necessary. Oh, the joys of change.
That's enough ranting for now... Be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life!
lol. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I get that everytime I clean too... ;)
