HELLLLOOOO Bloggies!! I have missed you all! This is easy to say since I know all of you who actually read my posts. J

I had a great spiritual experience earlier this evening and I needed to share it w/ ALL THE WORLD, or at least w/ those who care about me. As you may have heard, via Facebook, I have been under the weather lately. The kids I nanny have all had different battles w/ the sickness bug and alas, my time has come to dress for battle. My uneducated guess is that I have strep throat. Bleh! It’s the worst. Especially since I recently found out that it doesn’t just “go away” w/o antibiotics. My insurance-less life is truly getting in the way of a healthy me. *Note to self- I really need to work on getting a job that provides benefits.* Anyways, my visiting teacher, Amanda, has been super awesome! We’ve been getting along quite swimmingly and today during our texting I asked her if she knew if there were doctors in the ward. My, all-knowing, mother told me to ask and I obeyed. I try to do so every now and then. ;) Anyways, she called me and gave me a few people and then asked if I wanted her to send over some brethren to give me a blessing. I accepted and she went to work. A bit later I got a call from a brother, whose name I forgot, in the ward and he said that he and another brother would be over soon to give me a blessing.

I sat anxiously waiting. Mostly, because I didn’t want them to have to wait for me or for the dog to jump on them if someone else answered the door and no one put him away. It was useless anxiety, really. Well, we introduced ourselves, no last names exchanged, and John and LJ sat w/ me for a little bit to find out what’s up. Long story short, we got down to the blessing and before the anointing prayer (is that right?) was done I was overcome w/ the Spirit. The sealing blessing took place and these brothers were so wonderful and carried the Spirit w/ them so strong that I was happy to be sitting down. It seems like it’s been such a while since I’ve last felt the Spirit so strong that it was such a relief to feel it again. It was a sense of “coming home.” Within the blessing was said a few things that I needed to hear and that I knew was coming straight from the Lord. I know He DOES love me and knows me, but it’s great to hear it out loud every now and then and in a different voice than my own.

Thank you Heavenly Father for the restored gospel and for the priesthood on the earth right now. It has been such a great blessing and opportunity for me. I love being in the presence of others who have such great countenances about them. I feel like it is so limited these days for me and I have come to better love waking up on Sundays to go to church and relish in the Spirit that is there. I will do, not try, harder to not take it for granted. I will do what it takes to get me on the same level that I used to be, spiritually, and then progress from there.

Holy cow Batman! I haven’t written in forever! Eek! But is it really a surprise to you? I didn’t think so. ;)

Since I haven’t blogged for the past two-three months, I would assume that I have a lot to update you on. But luckily, we’re already facebook friends (right?) so you pretty much know what’s going on. New job, trip to Utah, and that pretty much catches you up. J I originally wrote a WHOLE lot more but decided that it would be too boring to read. Instead I will just say that after my 2 ½ day trip back to Utah, I realized that I miss it much more than I thought and am planning on moving back. Not for a while but hopefully not too far away either.

That’s all for now. I’ll write again soon and hopefully I’ll have more interesting things to add. Here’s the song for today. I’ve been sitting on this one for a while. I love Beyoncé. She’s so talented and beautiful. It did take me a while to truly appreciate her the way I do now, though. But I’m glad I finally do. Aroha! How are my lovely Bloggies doing this fine evening? Well, it’s evening for me. J

I started this post two days ago. I had about half a page worth of writing. Turns out it was a bunch of self-wallowing. I erased it. All! Now I am starting anew. J

I’ve been watching the nephews for the past couple weeks that they’ve been back from visiting the grandparents. Nani and Matt work during the day and my schedule is SUPER flexible. I’ve been trying to do fun things w/ them but we mostly just end up playing at home and usually playing video games. I decided that I was going to break in my new tennis racket, that I’ve had for the past 4-ish months, and take the boys to the park for tennis, razor-ing, and skateboarding. None of which I am very good at. Luckily, the six tennis courts were empty so we had the whole place to ourselves. J The boys used Nani and Matt’s rackets and we picked up a can of tennis balls on the way. We had a blast! I hadn’t played tennis since I was in high school. Holy cow! I didn’t realize it was THAT long ago. Kona said that he should be good at it because he’s played Wii tennis a lot. If that were the case, I’d be a pro at bowling, boxing, summer Olympic sports, ping-pong, and so many more sports. J If only! We all got in some good exercising. The boys had so much fun that yesterday AND today they asked to go play tennis again. Sadly, we’ve just had too many things going on that we haven’t had time to go. Kona’s birthday is on Saturday. He’s turning 10! I can’t believe my little Chubbahs isn’t little anymore. Or Chubbahs for that matter. I won’t be able to call them munchkins for much longer. L

Today’s song has been done by a few different people. I’m not sure who was REALLY the original artist. Most everyone is saying it was The Zutons while others say it was Steve Winwood. Turns out Steve Winwood did have a song called “Valerie” but it’s a different one. Most recently Bruno Mars performed it at the VMA’s in memory of Amy Winehouse, as she was the one to make it “famous.” But it was Santana from Glee that I made it a hit for me. I never heard it before that episode. Sad, I know. I’ve listened to four different versions of this song. I like them all. I LOVE the video that The Zutons made. It’s pretty clever. I really like Amy so whatever she sings is good. I’m pretty much in love w/ Bruno. And I’m a total gleek. So it’s hard to say which version is my favorite. I guess they all are in their own way. But for the sake of the artist’s picture to go w/ the lyrics, I will choose Amy. I don’t think I’ve don one of her songs yet. I’ve done Bruno at least twice and Glee… I do their stuff ALL the time! It’s kind of funny how my blurb on the song of the day turns into a whole novel. J

It’s that time of year again. Hurricane season. L Looks like Irene is gonna be tearin’ up the East coast this weekend. Over the past few days she’s been slowly upgrading hurricane levels. Nani says it’s been a while since the last hurricane so Irene has been long-awaited. I haven’t been in a hurricane since Iniki, back home in Hawaii. And that was like 1992! Almost 20 years ago. Holy crap I’m old! Our area hasn’t been issued a mandatory evacuation but Matt wants to leave and head out West with our friends. I am totally fine with a mini road trip. I’ll need to get some pictures to document this trip. *Disclaimer, those pics may not be so glamorous so don’t be too shocked if you see a not-so-photogenic Leo.

Outside of the hazardous weather, things have been good. I finally got the rest of the paperwork to become an official employee for the other company I’ve been doing demos for. Have I ever told you how much I hate starting new jobs? Interviews, paper work, being the newbie. Ugh. Oh! AND I got a job being a full-time nanny/babysitter! I don’t think I mentioned it last post but it’s for a family that lives pretty close. They have five year-old twins (a boy and a girl), a three year-old girl, and another girl (due in a few weeks). The twins have half-day kindergarten so I’ll only have them for about three hours. The younger two I’ll have all day. I’m pretty excited to be working with an infant/newborn again. It doesn’t start until November but I’m happy that I got the job. It’ll make paying the bills that much less painful. J

Now for today’s song. It came on the radio while I was typing this up. It’s really good one. Well, are the songs I put up ever NOT good ones? New Kid on the Block

Two months and no new posts? Dang it! And yet, it’s no surprise.

Do you remember how I said I was going to Utah in July and that I was also going to see Katy Perry in concert while visiting? Well, I didn’t. To both. L I was planning on going to visit towards the end of July but nothing went as planned once I moved out to Virginia. Funny how that happens in life sometimes. Despite the lack of plans going through things have been pretty good in Virginia overall. Work is good and it looks like I will be getting a few more hours each week. Yes! I just finished my second math class. *Phew* Final grades haven’t been posted yet but I’m pretty sure I’m getting at least a C. *fingers crossed* Thanks Raylene for helping me!! I also just interviewed for a care giver position. There’s a family in town that is looking for someone to watch their son a few hours after school. There’s also another family that is looking for a nanny to watch their four kids during the week. The twins will be in kindergarten and have a half-day schedule for I would watch all four of them for three hours. The rest of the time I would only have to watch the two younger ones. I’m working on scheduling an interview with them so we’ll see how that goes, too.

Oh! We got a second dog about a week ago. Well, my sister them did. He’s a black lab and apparently he’s a full-bred American Lab. Which are rare. Pretty cool, huh? We adopted him from the SPCA. He’s about a year and a half and his name was Mater. We just changed his name and made official today. Welcome Rastah to the family! J He and Kahlua play together all the time. It’s still a bit of a battle for dominance in the house but they mostly get along. It’s probably gonna take a while before that’s settled since Rastah is a bit older than Kahlua so he thinks he should have power, whereas it’s Kahlua’s house and he’s the first dog. They’re both just stubborn. But that’s what happens when you become part of the family. J Haha!

Today’s song is from Nicki Minaj. She is totally taking over the airwaves! At first I was a little resistant to her because she seemed to be in like every song. But as I’ve listened to the songs that she’s featured in I’ve learned to love her and especially after listening to her album I’ve fully fallen in love w/ her music. Virginia is for lovers

Hello Blogging world!

I should be more consistent when it comes to posting but I’ve just been lazy lately. Plus there isn’t much going on that you don’t already know.

I moved out to Virginia two weeks ago and it’s been pretty chill. Not too much going on. It’s been a nice change of scenery and I’m excited for more new changes. Working w/ my sister has been nice. I’m doing the same thing I did two Christmas seasons ago, when I first came out to work w/ her. I’m a merchandiser for a two different companies working at three different military exchanges. They’re basically military malls. You have to be or be w/ a military I.D. holding person in order to get in and buy things. It’s cool because the prices are usually less than that of Wal-Mart and everywhere else, PLUS you don’t pay sales tax. Cool huh? J I basically represent a whole bunch of different companies and brands. Everything from electronics to perfumes, to outdoor merchandise and more. It may seem like I do a lot but really I only have so many hours a week between the two. My sister can give me about 8-11 hours a week and the other company can give me 7 or 8 hours a week. There’s a third company that I’m hoping to work for doing the same thing but getting 30 hours a week! That reminds me, I need to call and follow up w/ them.

I’m now in a family ward. The singles branch was dissolved a few weeks ago because there just wasn’t enough people to function properly. Everybody moved away or got married. It’s a good reason for it to be dissolved but still a little sad. It’s going to be interesting to be in a family ward again. It’s been so long since I was last in one. Usually the only time I go to a family ward is when I’m visiting home, or a friend. So I feel like I’ll only be there a few Sundays before I go back to my singles ward. But that’s kind of how I feel about Virginia, too. It’s like I’m only out here for a little while and then I’ll go back to Utah. Only, that’s not really how it is. I do miss Utah but change is good. Change helps us to grow. Change… changes everything.

Today’s song is one that is ALWAYS stuck in my head because I hear it so much on the radio. J But luckily it’s a song that I like. This one is the album version, so w/o Kanye West rapping. I like it better w/o the rap anyways. Personally, the rap part doesn’t make much sense for it to be on there. Usually it enhances the song but really this time it doesn’t. Maybe I’m just prejudiced toward Kanye. Maybe I’d feel differently if it were Luda instead? Maybe it’s really that the rap part doesn’t make much sense to be on there. Anyways, I really like Katy Perry. She’s so pretty and does her own thing. Good for her! I’m excited to see her next month in concert!! J Be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life!

Choices

Have you ever wondered which way to go when a choice is placed before you? Ha, I feel like that is part of a song but I can’t figure out what one. It wasn’t intentional to be quoting a song, or anything else for that matter.

It seems to me that whenever I FINALLY make a decision, a whole bunch of other choices pop-up. And they’re usually pretty awesome ones, too! I hate it because, if you don’t already know this, I’m really indecisive. My picture is next to the word in the dictionary. That and gullible. Hmm. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that last one. But whatever. If you’re reading this, you already knew that.

My last post talked about how I was excited to be moving to St. George. Well, within the last few days, something else has come up. And it’s a pretty good something else, too. Logically speaking, it would be the better choice. Generally speaking, I have no idea what I’m going to do. I know that it’s really a matter that I need to take up with Heavenly Father, and that’s totally what I’m going to do. But I just hate having to make so many decisions. Well, rather I hate having so many options. Sometimes I just wish you only had to choose between two things and that’s it. Every time you had to make a decision. Instead of an infinite amount of options.

Any who. Today’s song is from Ms. Britney Spears. The funny thing about her is that I didn’t like her during her first two albums. I’m not sure why. I was totally a teeny-bopper back then. Maybe it was because I liked, and still like, Christina more. Anyway, I didn’t like her but I liked her songs. Nowadays, I like her. And her songs. I’m so happy that she’s made a good comeback. I’m not sure how I feel about her newest album yet but I loved Circus. This song is off of her third album, Britney. You know, this album has been quite the inspiration for me. When it first came out I had recently graduated from high school and I wanted to be an adult but was still looked at as a child. It’s interesting how her songs are still inspirational and related ten years later. Holy cow! :O Anyways, I’m not saying that I’ve been overprotected but just the feel of the song, overall, is what I feel a lot. Wow. This post has been pretty personal, and rant-worthy. Holy cow! It has been FOREVER since my last blog. L Sorry guys!

I just realized that on my last post I opened by calling you all “clubbies.” Haha! I meant to say “Bloggies.” My bad! Moving on.

Not too much going on since my last post. Still doing school. Still a nanny. Still Hawaiian. J Our branch did just turn into a ward. We combined w/ another singles ward and now we are all one HUGE family! Holy cow! Yesterday in RS we had at least 100 sisters! Well, Idk exactly but had to be. We were so big that we had to move from the RS room to the over flow/cultural hall. I’m excited though. Lots of new people. Especially boys! J

I am also moving to St. George! I’m finally taking the leap. It’s been in the making for the last six months. I still don’t have a job set up yet but I still have a month before I get down there. Pray for me guys! I am also in the market for a moped/scooter. Hopefully I’ll get one soon so I can learn how to ride it and what not before I get down to St. George.

Oh, and the biggest excitement that has recently happened in my life, drum roll please… I am debt free!! Credit card debt free that is. But it still counts!! I am so happy to finally have that monkey off my back. I still have student loans to pay back but luckily I still have time before I have to start paying them back. *phew*

Clubbies!!

I got my new phone today! Woo-hoo! I ordered it almost two weeks ago and was going crazy waiting for it. It’s a Motorola Flipside! My first smartphone. Woo!

It’s basically an iPhone w/ a Qwerty keyboard. I’m still trying to figure it all out since I’ve had it all of 4 hours now. J There’s so much extra stuff, I don’t know what to do w/ myself. I feel like I should be a much busier person to fully utilize it.

Quick update. I haven’t been working out. L I know right?! I did get the XBOX Kinect and am totally in love w/ it! It came w/ an Adventures game and I also got Dance Central. It is awesome!! J Man, it kicks my butt w/ all the dance moves though! Check out this video and you’ll see what I mean. I’ve totally danced this exact routine. I am definitely not a dancer but I do have a natural rhythm. J There is a workout mode to the game. It really just counts your calories burned. I plan to use this as my exercising. Workout DVDs aren’t motivating enough or really fun. Dancing is though! And you burn some mad calories doing it! J

Another little update. I’ve been on eHarmony for two months now. I’ve met a few guys and have been emailing. Nothing too serious as of yet but I’ll keep you informed. J I really like it though. I was on ldssingles too but nothing came of that. I still have one more month at my “special” price. We’ll see what happens when that time comes to see whether or not I will continue. There is one guy that I’ve been talking to for a couple weeks or so. He’s pretty cool. J You’ll just have to be patient and watch out for any updates.

Happy birthday to me!!! J

Getting ready… (not for my bday but close enough)

I can’t believe that today is my 28^th birthday! It’s gone by so fast! I still feel like I’m 16. Well, more like 21. J

For the first time in my life, at least that I can remember, I had a BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!! It was amazing! And it’s not even over yet. Thursday night Karyn came over and stayed the weekend. She came up w/ Amy, our friend and her roommate. Friday we went to dinner at Tepanyaki in Provo, w/ Pohai and Emily. That was so fun! I got free ice cream and a song. The chef working at the table close to ours was totally workin’ it for Karyn. Good times! Then back to the Blue House for singing on PS3. I love karaoke sessions!

Saturday night we went to dinner, again, w/ Pohai, Emily, Amy, and her two sisters Jeanette and Katie. We went to Spark in Provo. It’s a restaurant and lounge. It’s cool because it has a high-end club/bar feel w/o the alcohol. They have cool drinks, too! AND, I got free frozen chocolate mousse. It was basically chocolate ice cream.

Sunday night I had dinner at the Blue House. Pohai made me “That’s the Ticket Chicken” and cheesy potatoes. Freaking delish!! And some friends from my old ward came over and we had good times!

Tonight, Julie made Chinese food and a double-layer chocolate cake. Totally delish, even if we ended up using cornmeal type flour by accident. I totally love it!

It kind of looks like a hat or the top of a volcano. Grandpa (Carrie’s dad) called it a coliseum. After dinner I had FHE w/ my branch group and I took a Bundt cake. Yep, I made my first Bundt. I always think of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” when Bundt cakes come up. J We played games after the lesson and then had dessert and they sang to me. Aww!

What have I done in the past 28 years of life? I’ve lived in 5 different states, and gone to 8 different schools. Served a mission in San Bernardino, CA. I’ve been working on a degree in elementary education. I’ve been/am a full-time nanny. There’s more but it’s hard to think of everything from 28 years of experience. J

Thank you to my family and friends who have help make me the person I am today. Thank you to the newer friends I have made along the way. Thank you to everyone who’s been there through thick and thin. Thank you for making this birthday one of, if not, THE best birthdays ever! J

Bloggies!!

Wow! It has been a while, yet again, since I’ve blogged. Instead of apologizing, I’m just gonna get right into it. J

According to my last blog, I should have reached my goal by now. In all honesty, I have not. If I kept to my planned regimen it would be all good and I’d be working on a new goal. Instead, like my blogging, I was not consistent. Last week, I only went walking, with a little bit of jogging. Sadly, I missed a few days. This week I plan to be better. No, this week I WILL DO better. I will do my DVD and walk/jog.

This weekend is going to be so awesome! Karyn and Amy are coming up from San Jorge and I cannot wait!!! I have been waiting for this week since Karyn first told me she was coming up, over a month ago. Even though it’s been almost three months since I last saw them, it has been too long! Well, I saw Amy just before Christmas but only for like 2 minutes. So that doesn’t count. Party over here!! I hope you are ready girls! J Idk what we’re gonna do but whatever it is, we gon’ have fun! Mmhmm! (Juju lips and all)

Bloggies!!

I have missed you so! Once again I am sorry for my lack of consistency. Hopefully this post will be fulfilling for you as much as it is for me. :D

As some of you may already know, from facebook, I have started to exercise. I am pretty excited! I have been watching this season of “The Biggest Loser” and decided that it is time for me to change, not only my weight but more importantly my mind. I cannot get healthier and make myself better if I do not first decide to. They even talk about it a little on TBL. I have connected w/ some of them because I feel the same about certain things but I have been rooting for Moses and Kaylee, a father/daughter from Idaho. They are members of the church and are so inspirational! Just looking at their pictures on TBL site made me tear up a bit. Man, I’m so emotional. J Anyways, Kaylee decided to go on the show to help her dad make the life change as well as make the change for herself to avoid continuing to follow in the footsteps of so many of her family members. Moses lost 41 lbs in the first week!! Holy cow! The girls from the purple team said that he “lost a kindergartner!” That’s like two bags of rice! Sheesh! Go Moses!

I will NOT be as hardcore as the contestants on TBL are, because I can’t exercise for 6-8 hours a day w/ awesome trainers. Rather, I will take it at my own pace. I have Jillian Michaels “30 Day Shred” DVD and it’s a 20 minute workout. I have decided to alternate it every other day w/ walking/jogging for 30 minutes. I’m working on my diet but it really isn’t much of one. I’m gonna start off w/ portion control and then go from there. My goal is to lose 10 lbs by my birthday so we’ll see how that goes. Ultimately, I want to lose more than 40 lbs to get me back to a weight I have not seen since freshman year of high school! I have been debating whether or not I will take before and after pictures. If I do I am not sure if I will post them. Maybe I’ll take two kinds of pictures, ones that I will use for my own comparison and then one that I don’t mind sharing w/ all of you. I am a lot bigger than most of you think. Seriously.

Here’s to my own personal challenge. J I started on Thursday and have been consistent every day so far. Sundays will be my “day of rest” and then back to it Monday through Saturday. Depending on the frequency of our seeing each other, hopefully you will see a difference (fingers crossed). Oh, and to make sure I keep to it I will be weighing in every week and I will blog the results. Since I didn’t start until Thursday, I won’t weigh in until next Thursday. So expect results that night or Friday.

Today’s song is one that will be on my jogging playlist. J I first heard it back in high school and loved it ever since. If you don’t know who these guys are, I don’t blame you. Their type of music is pretty hardcore and I don’t know if I could handle an entire CD of theirs. But this song really gets me moving. It’s also a song that Dave listens to while snowboarding and Raylene while jogging. J There’s an inside joke to that so if you don’t get it, then we need to hang out more often! How was your weekend? Your Martin Luther King Jr. Day? I hope they were all wonderful!

Today I had an interview for a new part-time job. It’s a pretty good opportunity but, frankly, it’s not for me. I would not do well in a commissioned position. Just because I hate feeling like I have to pressure people into anything. Therefore, I wouldn’t make much money. Plus, I’m not that great of a salesperson. You know, the kind that gets people all amped up to change an aspect of their life for something “better.” I had a hard enough time going door-to-door teaching people about Jesus. And that was for free!

I’ve decided to stop going after the things that I am not familiar w/ and to just go for the ones that I am really good at and will definitely excel at. I know that I can do anything I put my mind to but why fix something that ain’t broke, right? If you know of any jobs, that I have experience in, give a girl a shout! J

This one isn’t going to be too long. I just wanted to give you something to read. J Oh, AND… I saw “Country Strong” this weekend and I just have to say that I loved it! The whole story was pretty good but I really fell in love w/ the singing. I already knew Gwenyth Paltrow sang but I did NOT know the other two characters, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester, sang. I am totally in love w/ Garrett Hedlund! I thought he was gorgeous from the first time I saw him in “Troy.” I saw him in “Four Brothers” but Mark Wahlberg is also in it so I was distracted by him. J But his role as a cowboy who sings, he basically took my breath away. No seriously! Check it out for yourself!

I know, right?! I told you he was amazing! J You should go watch the movie. The reviews haven’t been the best but my review is a good one. If you don’t love the movie, you’ll at least love the music. Today’s song is one of my favorite ones from the movie. I want to sing this w/ my husband at our wedding. J I know. I’m so cheesy. Anyways, hope you have a wonderful week. Hello Bloggies!

Haha! Do you love how I just come up w/ names for you? J I know, I’m pretty awesome like that. If you haven’t already seen them, I put a few pics up from the holidays. Like seriously, a few. There’s a bunch more but I didn’t want to put them all up. They’re all Pohai’s pics for I borrowed them. I just took the important ones. J J/k!

These past few months have been a little hard for me, emotionally. Not where I was totally depressed or anything, just where I was having a hard time appreciating my job and daily interactions. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE Isabella and her parents. They are the best and take care of me so much! It’s just been hard because at times I just want to hang out w/ my friends or just go somewhere w/o worrying about Isabella. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this before but this is just a little update. Recently, I’ve realized how fun it can be to watch a little girl every day. Yeah, it’s hard and takes its toll. But it’s only a glimpse into parenthood. I’m not saying I can’t handle it. I totally can. I’ve taken care of kids from newborn and up since I was 11 years-old. The only thing I haven’t done was carry and birth a child. Oh, and financially support one (thank goodness). I’ve come to terms w/ the fact that I need to just get over myself and realize that Isabella is just a kid and she doesn’t have to do everything in the OCD way I want. And I’ve learned to love her parents more. I’ve had a few hang-ups because things are done totally different from the way I was raised or expect. Thankfully, I’ve gotten over those and have slowly had a better relationship w/ them. At least I think so.

Moving on. I watched “Born Different 2: More Amazing Medical Stories” on E!. Among the different people that were spotlighted was Kyle Maynard.

His story is so inspirational. He was born w/ congenital amputation, anything from missing a limb or an extremity, to multiple. In Kyle’s case he doesn’t have arms or legs past his elbows and knees and despite his “handicap” he is far from being one. Check out his site! He is freaking amazing! And check out that episode he’s in, too. It’ll help you to get more of an idea of who he is. I officially have a crush on him. J His story has made me look at myself and realize that any limitations I THINK I have aren’t as big as I think they are. Compared to Kyle, I have no reason to be limited. If I want something I need to do everything in my power to make it happen. I have to stop sitting back and waiting for things to happen TO me. Things happen after some kind of action is taken. Like Kyle says, “No excuses.”

Hola!!

I am so EXCITED right now!!! :D I follow Kandee Johnson, a professional make-up artist, and she had a great discount on Crown Brushes last month. She doesn’t work for them or anything but she does use them. I took full advantage of the discount and ordered myself some awesome professional make-up brushes. I ordered them about two weeks ago and I got them in the mail TODAY!! J Woo-hoo!

This is the set I bought. There were three different pouches to choose from.

The only logical thing to do, then, is to drop everything and break them in! And that’s just what I did. J Now, I’m sure you’re thinking, “Hello Leo. You have a little girl to watch.” Well don’t you fret my pet. She was taking a nap. I ran down to “the dungeon” and opened my little package and became acquainted w/ my new friends. Normally, I’m not one to go all crazy over make-up. I basically wear eyeliner almost every day, and I’ll also wear eye shadows and mascara. That’s about the extent of my beautifying. I don’t wear foundation very often because I touch my face a lot so I figure it’s pointless. I don’t wear a lot of make-up mainly because I feel I don’t have the patience for it. I don’t want to spend a long time putting my face on. I want to just put a bit to look decent and then I’m done.

However, since I have been watching Kandee make-up has become more appealing and seemingly easier (thanks Kandee!). The point is, I went all out on my face today. I put on my liquid foundation, using my yellow-orange foundation brush, AND my powder foundation, followed by the usual crème eyeliner, eye shadows, and mascara. I even put on lipstick AND a bit of gloss. I don’t usually like gloss because I’ve had sticky ones that just feel gross. But I have a smooth, not-so-sticky one from Mary Kay. Most of my make-up is Mary Kay. I love it!

The completed look. I even curled my hair w/ a flat iron (which wasn’t as difficult as I thought).

I know that you can’t really tell what’s going on differently from my usual make-up venturing but it’s all listed above. And might I add, my new liner brush is AMAZING! I have had a few different ones, but this is BY FAR my favorite. I didn’t have to spend as much time winging the end and it was just one smooth movement. Seriously. THE best! I hope I don’t seem too conceited. At least not more than usual. ;)

Today’s song is one I got for free on itunes under the discovery downloads. I love that little thing they do each week. I got a lot of songs from that. J Anyways, this song should be the anthem for women everywhere! Men too but girls have more issues w/ this then guys seem to. Hope you like it! Happy New Year!!!

Hello lovelies! How was 2010 for you? I hope your ringing in of 2011 was fun! Mine’s sure was. J It wasn’t your typical new year’s celebration but it was still fun for me. I hung out w/ the BHGs (minus Raylene) and we watched Dick Clark. I haven’t watched him in forever! We took a bunch of pics (of which I will upload later here or to my facebook) and each had our own bottle of Martinelli’s. Good times! J

I decided to follow in the footsteps of one of my BHGs. She has decided to make this year “her year.” She’s starting up w/ a trainer and has a goal to lose weight and to make herself the best she can be, including spiritually. How awesome is that?! I definitely need to put my desire to improve physically and spiritually into action. 2011 is a great time to start! Plus, being my 10 year anniversary of graduating from high school, I probably should look close to as good as I did back then. Just saying.

Today’s song is a classic from old “blue eyes.” He is so smooth! I think this will be my theme song for this year. Once again, taking a cue from my BHG. Bloggers! Hello my sweets!

Well, it’s nothing new. I have a problem w/ being consistent in my blogging. Except for when I did the 30 Days Challenge. Anywho. Time to play catch up. Luckily, and yet sadly, it won’t take long. J L

I went to Arizona w/ Karyn for Thanksgiving. I’ve spent the past couple weekends at the Blue House. I’ve learned a new cookie recipe. I have been devouring the Percy Jackson series. I am proud to say that I am currently half-way through the fourth book and will soon start the fifth, and final, book. I will have read an entire series w/in a month! And that’s huge. For me! I’m not an avid reader whatsoever. But when I find a book that I enjoy, I get hooked. Luckily, most of them have been series so I have more to enjoy! J Thanks Karyn for my new addiction! J

Other than that, things have been pretty quiet and the same. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season! I am looking forward to my first Christmas in Utah. This should be interesting. Snow Day

An interesting thing happened today. Hector was leaving for work but the garage door wouldn’t open. We tried unlocking it to open it manually but it still wouldn’t budge. Turns out it was frozen to the ground on one corner. Finally it broke loose and Hector was on his merry little way. Carrie was sick from last night and stayed home.

Meanwhile, Stinky (one of my nicknames for Isabella) and I got bundled up and went out to play in our snow-covered back yard. I’m pretty sure it was her first time playing in the snow. J She doesn’t have gloves yet, so I put socks on her hands.

We didn’t stay out as long as I was planning because I knew Stinky’s hands were getting frozen. She kept grabbing at the snow and all. Poor little thing! She was braving the cold to play outside. We went in after about 10-15 minutes of playing and good thing, too, because her hands were red and super cold when I took off the socks.

Thanksgiving was awesome! I went down to St. George Monday night and then Karyn and I went over to Page, AZ on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday. We stayed w/ Karyn’s extended family. It was super awesome! I had only met her grandma and great-grandma (on her mom’s side) before but this time I got to meet her uncles and their families! Our turkey dinner was amazing! I had heartburn all week. I still have some. It was that good! J Thanks Karyn and Fishers! It was memorable and great!

What can I say about Karyn that hasn’t already been said? Nothing. I simply have to reiterate it all! Karyn is my best friend and I am so blessed to have her in my life. It’s been quite a rocky road of friendship, at first, but it’s been smooth sailing more recently. Ours has truly become a friendship, nay sisterhood- yes, I just said nay- that has withstood the sands of time. Haha! Could I throw in anymore old sayings? J

Moving on. Karyn has been there for me when I felt like I couldn’t turn to anyone else. Or I was too embarrassed to go to anyone else. Karyn has always been the non-judgmental shoulder I could cry on. She has given been so much advice that I needed. The funny thing is that I always knew what she was going to say but the way she’d end up saying it was so much better than I thought and really opened my eyes to a newer horizon.

Thanks for the good times and sticking through the not-so-good times! I am truly grateful for your, sisterhood? Sistership? Well, you know what I mean. Thanks for knowing EVERYTHING about me and yet still loving me. Words will never be able to express my love and gratitude. Less than three you, Karyn! Less. Than. Three you.

Greetings blogging world! Have you been going through withdraws from the lack of new entries? I hope so! And for that, I apologize.

This week I have finals for my teaching and art classes. My goal is to finish both finals by tomorrow. I’m only starting today. No surprise, right? J I should be able to breeze through my teaching final but it’s my art final that will most likely take the longest. I just hope not too long. I also have to prepare my lesson for Relief Society for this coming Sunday. You know, if they finished things, procrastinators would rule the world. J After Sunday, I start another class. Luckily, it’s only one class but I have to retake my history class. Ugh. And I can’t use my previous assignments to turn in again. Lame. J

As many of you know, last weekend I went down to St. George to see my cousin, Karyn. It was out 10^th anniversary, but our first time actually celebrating it. We didn’t find out we were related, way down the line, until a year or so after we’d been friends. We celebrated by going to dinner at Roy’s in Las Vegas. It was phenomenal! The food was ridiculously delicious and just the whole night was great! Of course we spent a butt-load of money, but I will say that it was definitely worth it! If you ever have the chance to eat there, do it! And tell them it’s your anniversary or birthday or whatever, too! They give you a small- and I mean small- dessert and you get a cute framed little picture.

Not too much else going on in my neck of the woods. It’s been snowing a lot in the mountains, and a few times here in Lehi. I’m sure it’s been snowing everywhere else, too. So far the snow melts by the afternoon but it’s just a matter of time before it sticks and stays. I’m not completely ready for the snow but are we ever? I still have a few more pairs of jeans and long sleeve shirts to get. Not to mention durable and warm shoes. I hope your adventures have been amazing and well documented. Halloween was super fun! It has been years since I last dressed up! I was excited to be in an actual neighborhood this year, as opposed to college town. The Pereyras and I were originally going to go as KISS but we didn’t. Carrie and I went to Walmart to get some things for Halloween night and also a costume for Isabella. She’s been in to Tinker Bell lately, watching the movies 3 or more times a day- every day, and just so happen I stumbled across a Tinker Bell costume. It was the last one and I was worried about it because it had obviously been opened. Either from being returned or someone else checking it out. As we continued shopping Carrie was looking for a costume for her and Hector. She decided that Hector could be a pirate and then I suggested he be Captain Hook and she said she’d be Wendy. I was thinking of who I could be and Carrie said one of the lost boys or Wendy’s brothers but I didn’t want to be a boy. I thought of the girls in the movie and I remembered Tiger Lily! She was perfect! We’re both brown, both natives- even though different kind of natives, both have dark hair. Basically all of the costumes for women are skanky, so I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Carrie suggested we get some material and make it. We were going to pin the whole thing. I got nervous that it would fall apart mid-trick or treating. Saturday came and I decided that I was going to make my costume. I took a simple dress I got on clearance from Walmart a month before and turned it inside-out to see the seams and make my own pattern. I cut my material and then went over to the Blue House to use the sewing machine. Whipped it up w/in an hour and then I was on my way back home to get ready and go out w/ the family. I was quite impressed w/ myself. I’ve only made two pillows, in 8^th grade for BPA (Basic Practical Arts) and then a few blankets. Oh and some scrunchies. But never anything that was clothes. I decided a while ago that I wanted to get my own sewing machine and learn how to make my own clothes. One day, soon, I will get one! J I can’t wait for the fun and cute outfits I’ll make. The best thing about it is that the clothes will definitely be my size!

Friday night I saw the Portuguese Kings of Comedy. Frank de Lima and Augie T came to Lehi and performed at Thanksgiving Point. Pohai told me they were coming and her friend Sally was getting tickets, if I wanted to go. Turns out, we got VIP tickets for only $25. Original price… $100! I know, right?! It was amazing! We had dinner, catered by Pounders, and Frank and Augie came back stage so we could meet them. That was the highlight for me! Frank went around to all of the tables and talked with everyone before the show. Augie went missing. It was so awesome to have a chance to sit and talk to Frank de Lima. Well, mostly just listen. Oh man, I haven’t laughed like that in a while. So good fun! I have more pictures from it so just check out my facebook album called Good Fun. Oh, the food! Holy moly it was amazing! Pounders has a different catering menu from their regular menu and ho, broke da mout'! I want to cater w/ them but I have nothing to cater. I apologize for not blogging yesterday. I had a lot of things going on and by the time I got home I was done! I went straight to bed. I fell asleep reading the last two verses of my chapter, for my scripture reading. I’m trying to be more consistent. I finally woke up and finished the chapter and went to sleep. I think I said my prayer… Hmm. I will put pictures up from the 29^th and today- the 30^th- tomorrow. Today is the last day of the truth challenge. I’m actually kind of sad. I’ve had fun posting something almost every day with a purpose. It was fun while it lasted!

Day 29: Something you hope to change about yourself, and why.

I hope to change my lack of self discipline in money, and eating. I think it is somehow programmed into my brain that I need to spend almost every penny I have in my account. I am working so desperately to stop that programming and to stick to a budget. I’m still new at it so it’s still hard, BUT… I am seeing some progress! J As far as eating goes… I just LOVE food. I don’t like to reject food and I don’t like to waste it. So I eat it. All of it. I know that it’s not good for me to do so but such is the life of a Polynesian. I have decided that I need to be more mindful of what and how much I eat and also that I need to exercise, consistently. I’ll get there one day!

Day 28: What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?

I would freak out. First off, how did I get pregnant? Or how did I get someone pregnant? Crazy! Hopefully, I would be married before I got pregnant. If that’s the case then I would be so happy and yet so nervous! I’ve cared for kids ranging from newborn to whatever. There is no limit to the age that I’ve cared for. Yes, that means you! J J/k! But seriously, I KNOW what to do w/ babies and what to expect after birth and what not. But I’ve never experienced pregnancy or labor so those are the parts I’m most nervous about. I have a glimpse to what kind of mother I’ll be but I wonder if it’ll be any different since one day, I will- hopefully- have my own little bundle of joy. Will I be the type of mother that worries at every little sound that comes out of my little one or will I be the cool, rational type of mom I hope be? Only time will tell. If I was pregnant, I’d try my best to love every minute of it. Well, at least the minutes where I am not sick or in too much pain. J

Today started off to be a good day. I woke up when my alarm went off. I got some exercising in. Isabella didn’t put up a fight when it was nap time. I was going to watch a movie with Pohai, and I was going to send off my mom’s birthday present. Somehow, between Isabella’s nap and my going to watch a movie, my world turned upside down. I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Complete devastation entered into my little, happy world. I put on an indifferent face for as long as I could and then I could no longer hold the rivers back behind the dam. I burst into tears while talking to my sister about it. That was interesting in itself since my sister and I don’t usually talk to each other in times of distress. I mean, we talk but it’s never about the actual situation that is plaguing our lives at the moment. It’s tiny glimpses into it but then we move on to something else. I just pray that things will get better with this and that time will heal all involved. Somehow.

Day 27: What’s the best thing going for you right now?

How do I answer this? Do I answer it in the sense of what they mean in movies, like my looks or a certain talent? Or do I answer it in the sense of the good things in my life? I choose the latter. I feel that my current situation is the best thing going for me. By situation (I am not referring to the Jersey Shore) I mean, I am a live-in nanny where I get paid and room and board. Carrie and Hector have been so awesome in helping me out to make money and not have to worry so much about extra bills while I go to school. And I help them out in watching their little girl. I wish I could talk about a few other things in my life but at the moment it’s not so peachy.

Day 26: Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so when and why?

Wow. Getting into the heavy stuff, eh? Well, I’ve never seriously thought about giving up on life so much that I wanted to die. But yes, I have thought about giving up on life. I don’t remember all the details because it was so long ago. I just remember thinking that my life wasn’t as awesome as I was expecting it to be and I wondered if I really mattered anymore. I had an “It’s a Wonderful Life” moment where I was wishing I was never born. Then I thought about all the things that would be different if I wasn’t around. I don’t know how much of it would have been true but it’s just the small things that I thought truly needed me for. I have also wanted to just check out of life. In the sense of going far away to start completely new, where no one knew me and I could be or become anyone I wanted to. But I’d miss everyone too much and I wouldn’t be able to keep up a new life without going back to the old one. Everything that I’ve gone through has made me the person I am today. Without, I would be completely different. And that’s just weird!

Day 25: The reason you believe you’re alive today.

This is kind of a weird topic. It’s not like I’m rock climbing everyday w/o a harness or anything. I’m the crazy adventurer. I’m alive because two of the most important people in my life fell in love, got married, started a family, and eventually had me. They’ve kept me safe and taught me all they could. It’s really as simple as that.

Today’s song is pretty awesome. I’ve liked it for a while but I never looked to see what all of the words were. It’s even more awesome than I thought. I love that T.I. tried to do good just before his incarceration and after as well. He’s realized his mistakes and tries to educate others that are going down the path he already went down. Good for him, trying to make a difference! I love the whole song, but I especially love when he says, “Don’t forget that impossible is nothin’, your environment's irrelevant, just don’t let your emotions over power your intelligence. Day 23: Something you wish you had done in your life.

Wow. What haven’t I wished… I wish that I was more passionate about something. Like music, art, dancing. Something. And continued on w/ it. I took piano when I was eight, for a little while. My teacher moved soon after I started and so I quit. Plus I knew we really didn’t have the money for lessons anyway. I wish I continued on w/ hula. I started in the fifth grade, which is totally late, but that’s when we moved back to Hawaii. But I had to stop because of my knee. Idk how it happened but it got messed up. The doctor said my muscle grew over the bone weird or something. Certain moves in hula aggravated it. Which is why I didn’t really play sports either. I did play soft tennis but that didn’t last long either. I’m thinking about taking ballroom dancing lessons. I think it would be fun and it’d give me something constructive to do. Or maybe going back to the piano. Idk, there’s a lot that I want to do. We’ll see what happens.

Day 22: Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.

I wish I didn’t wait so long to go back to school. I went to a community college, the fall after graduation. I only took two classes, because that’s all I could afford. After the term/semester was over I didn’t go back to school. Part of it was because I moved from the Big Island, back to Oahu. The other part was that I wanted to work and save up for my mission. I worked full-time and made pretty good money. The sad part… I didn’t save any of it. I would’ve been able to pay for my mission, myself, if I had saved. I’m so grateful that I went on my mission! For sure! I just wish that before and right after, I was in school. I could’ve been done w/ graduate school already. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

I first heard today’s song on the “Twilight” soundtrack. I totally love this song! It’s not about anything particular that I wanted to share it’s just a song that I really like! J Be strong, be happy, and find the joy in your life!
